MESSAGE:

“What is the meaning of Christmas? Is there any real purpose to it all?
We must remember that God never does things without a purpose. He has reasons for everything He does. We can find those reasons in His Word, the Bible.

What is the meaning of Christmas
to God Himself?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (Jn. 3:16).
The “world” in that verse is mankind. The “only begotten Son” means: the only One of His kind. There has never been, and never will be, another like the Lord Jesus Christ—perfect man and perfect God! To God the Father, the meaning of Christmas is that He gave His Son, His only Son, the only One of His kind, for sinful, wicked mankind! Romans 5:10 tells us that mankind is the enemy of God; so God gave His only Son for His enemies. That’s what Christmas means to God. A grieving father once asked, “Where was God when my son was killed?” The compassionate response was, “The same place He was when His own Son was killed!”

What is the meaning of Christmas
to the Lord Jesus Himself?

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” (Phil. 2:5-8).

Notice:
He emptied Himself—laid aside the “form of God,” i.e., the outward, visible manifestation of the Godhead.
He made Himself of no reputation.
He took upon Himself the “form of a servant, i.e., the form of a slave.
He was made in the likeness of men.
He humbled Himself (stooped so low!)
He died the death of the cross.
The Lord Jesus Christ left Heaven’s glory, was born of a virgin, born in a stable, lived among men, and ate, drank, slept, and talked with sinners. He revealed God; preached to the blind, hearing to the deaf, strength to the lame and raised the dead. Then, HE was put to death on the cross!
That’s what Christmas means to Christ, Himself.

What is the meaning of Christmas to YOU?

“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners…” (1 Tim. 1:15).
You are a sinner, for ALL have sinned; BUT Christ came to save sinners.
“And ye know that He [Christ] was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin” (1 Jn. 3:5).
Christ came to take away our sins.
“And deliver them, who through fear of death, were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Heb. 2:15).
You don’t have to be afraid to die—not if you have accepted Christ as your Savior.
“…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil” (1 Jn. 3:8).
You don’t have to live under the power of the Devil—not if you know Christ.
“…God sent His only Begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him” (1 Jn. 4:9).
You can have life—real life, eternal life—if you believe in Christ Jesus.
“Wherefore, He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Heb. 7:25).
Christ not only died on the Cross for our sins. He arose from the grave and is a LIVING SAVIOR! He lives to save YOU to the uttermost, to the very end, completely!
The meaning of Christmas for YOU is that Christ came for YOU. He died for YOUR SINS. He arose from the grave to be YOUR Living Savior.
Have you come, as a sinner, to Christ Who came for YOU?
Have you believed in Him Who believes in YOU?
Have you accepted Him Who will accept YOU?
If not, dear friend, come now, as a sinner, to Him Who came for YOU.
Believe on Him.
Accept Him as YOUR personal Savior.

Then you will know the real meaning of Christmas.

MY DECISION:
I thank you, Lord, for dying on the cross for my sins and for rising from the grave to be a Living Savior. I know that I am a sinner, and I now receive You as my personal Savior. I know that Your blood cleanses me from my sins and that through You, the Living Savior, I have eternal life.”
