MESSAGE:

Exactly, what is a BAD day? When someone says, “I’m having a bad day,” they really may mean life is just too unbearable. A bad day could be the result of our activities falling far short of our expectations. You have heard people say, “Nothing is going right today!” For some a bad day is when uncontrollable fear or worry keeps them from doing their best. Such a person might say, “I don’t know what is wrong with me today.”

How can a BAD day ever become a GOOD day?

First, the answer requires that we know where our days come from.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living soul. (Gen. 2:7)

When was man first troubled by a bad day?

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
(Gen. 2:16-17)

…And he did eat. (Gen. 3:6)

Since then, what has life been like for all people?

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. (Job 14:1-2)

God created man, gave him life and put him in a perfect garden for the purpose of loving man and for man to love God. But because man disobeyed God, he was cast out of the garden into the world separated from God (Gen. 3:23).

Now because of Adam’s sin of disobedience, we are all born with a sinful nature.

Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
(Rom. 5:12)

This leaves us destined to have many bad days (Isa. 59:2-3). What, then, do we need in order to have a good day?

We need someone to justify us with God to restore that lost relationship. We need a Savior because our works (good deeds, righteousness, religiousness) are unable to undo what Adam did. We need someone who can deliver us from sin. We’re helpless.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ.
(Gal. 2:16)

Jesus Christ is the only Savior Who can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary; there they crucified Him.
(Lk. 23:33)

…And the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin. (1 Jn. 1:7)

What can we do then to be saved?

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Rom. 10:9, 13)

If you believe that Christ saves sinners, and you know you are a sinner, then don’t delay. Instead, call out to God now and have a GOOD Day!

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (Eph. 2:8)”
