Dear Friends,
as you can see, I'm about to saddle up to go for a ride! I
want you to come with me! It will be a ride that you will never forget!
Have you
ever wanted to attend an "old time" gospel meeting like the old cowboys would
have enjoyed under a "Cowboy Canvas Cathedral?" Well, here is your opportunity!
I have invited Bible teacher, Les Feldick of the
"Through the Bible Ministries," and gospel soloist,
Eddie Piper; both are pictured here. Les will be teaching the
Bible daily and Eddie will direct the music program and minister with a
"Singing Revival" the each day of our Cowboy Family Bible Conference.
Les Feldick is an Oklahoma Cattle Rancher and
has enjoyed that lifestyle for many years. Les and his wife, Iris, have been
married since 1953. They have three grown children and eight grandchildren. He
has been teaching home-style Bible classes for over 30 years; his down-to-earth,
practical teaching makes the Bible come to life in an understandable, deep and
pure way. It was through one of these classes that the door was opened for his
"Through the Bible Ministries." This far-reaching ministry
includes television, radio, recordings and 81 books which are available on line
at: www.lesfeldick.com. Les will be teaching 2 or 3 times
a day, depending upon the conference activity schedule.
Eddie Piper
never sang until he was "born again" at age
19. He began singing in his home church, and then invitations to sing came from
other churches. For 30 years now, he has ministered all over the eastern US and
Canada.
Some of his notable ministry experiences include: hosting a
daily, local radio broadcast for 13 years; ministering on local and national TV
for 28 years, and has professionally recorded many gospel songs which will be
available at the conference and on line at: www.eddiepiperministries.com.
Over the
years he has had the privilege of working with many well-known and respected
preachers and teachers, evangelists and musicians. Some names include: Oliver
Green, Billy Graham Association, Don Wyrtzen, Harry Bollback, Henry Kulp, J.
Sidlow Baxter, Spiro Zodhiates, Lehman Strauss, Ravi Zacharias.
Spiritual Refreshment - Showers of
Blessing!
You will find it hard to discover a Bible
conference that would be closer to the "old time - brush arbor" Revival Meetings
of a century ago than this one!
The older adults will have cherished memories of
what "Church" and "Revival Meetings" used to be like. The young folks will see
that these are the kind of meetings upon which the American "Spiritual
Awakenings" of the past were built. Your children and grandchildren will enjoy
and appreciate the "simplicity" of what "church" used to be like and what it
should continue to be like. You'll enjoy great fellowship, singing the familiar
hymns, hearing heart-touching testimonies followed by challenging,
thought-provoking teaching.
For the Young and Young in Heart!
Little
Bear Creek Ranch is located in the heart of the "Ozark Mountains." This
area is famous for being "Jesse James and Daniel Boone country." During the week
we will have several visits from some of these "country folks" like
Professor Hill Billy who will take you behind the scenes of his
"Ozark Laboratory." Then, you can expect a visit from "Preacher
Cecil" when he comes to preach one of his "backwoods sermons." Too, you
can expect some excitement when Sheriff Joel and Deputy Neil
come ridin' in looking for some of the old "Jesse James" gang. If you watch and
listen carefully you will hear the "Call of the Wild" when
"Jungle Jim" and Denny Blankenship bring some of their exotic
animals, from the "Zoo Land Animal Sanctuary." This is a really rare
treat!
Professor Hill
Billy "Jungle Jim"
Preacher Cecil
And then, of course, Cowboy Lee will be on
hand, with some of his "Bible Buckaroos", to put on a "Cowboy Show" of trick
roping and bullwhip artistry. And for a special treat for the "Young-ins,"
Pastor Gary Miller, of the Grace Harbor Church, will lead in
afternoon game times and a special "Magic Show" each day with,
quicker-than-the-eye tricks and an important message of God's love.
Also, plans are being made to have Cowboy Dennis
Cappel, who is a professional horse trainer with us. Dennis and Cindy
are the owners of "Hope Givers Ranch." They will give an exciting demonstration
of horse training with a spiritual emphasis. Cowboy Cappel says, "There is
something about the outside of a horse which is good for the inside of a man."
Plan on filling out the day with some mule or
horseback riding; roping the "dummy steer," knife and tomahawk throwing
or enjoy being free from the hustle and bustle of a busy and troubled
world. Take a "siesta" - go lay down in a hammock under a shade tree or read a
good book. Let your children and grandchildren enjoy the great outdoors while
you play a game of horse shoes; or shoot "clay pigeons." Perhaps, you'd like to
take your family for a trail ride or walk in the Daniel Boone National Forest
which joins the camp property.
For the
Night Owls, you can enjoy an old- time cowboy movie before
bedtime or just sit around a campfire for fellowship.
The Conference...What does it
cost?
What are you going to eat?
Where are you going to stay?
And...Where are we going to meet?
Little Bear Creek Ranch is a primitive camp,
but, a very nice and restful location. If you love the out-of-doors, the smell
of fresh country air and the feeling of freedom and relaxation, you will love it
here. Oh yes, there is an occasional bug and the possibility of a little rain to
make things exciting and challenging. Gathering memories for a lifetime!
The Conference Costs: We make no
charge for the conference other than asking for,
(1) $25 Registration Fee for each family which
must be paid no later than June 1st.
(2) Each family is asked to give as
the Lord has prospered them towards covering the costs of:
* Food,
* Conference expenses and,
* Honorarium for ministry
staff. A free-will offering will be taken each
evening.
This conference in not underwritten in any way;
we are dependent upon the Lord to supply the need.. This is a grace operation.
We believe that God has called us and "Faithful is He that calls you, who also
will do it. Brethren, pray for us" (1Thess.
5:24-25).
The Food: Meals will be served three times a
day. Nobody has ever gone away hungry. We eat well. Not fancy but good. It is
served "Cowboy Style" from the side of our "Chuck Wagons." The young people will
be pleased to know that we have a "Canteen" where they can purchase extra snacks
and soft drinks for "crack filler."
The Lodging:
- Bring your own tent and camping gear to make camp on the
ranch property. Sleep like a Cowboy and use your saddle as your
pillow and a bedroll to sleep under the stars.
- Park your RV on the ranch property. Please understand there
is limited space with no sewer hookups and only a few 30amp
electrical hookups. Space is provided on a "first-come
first-served" basis. Others will have to go without electricity or use
their own generators. Primitive showers and Porta-johns will be provided. Please
bring your own lawn chairs.
- For those who would rather not "rough"
it... there is a
list of area RV Campgrounds and Motels,
listed below, at the end of this newsletter. Please b
e
reminded that we are limiting conference registration to 200.
June is the tourist season so don't delay making your reservations at the RV
parks and motels (NOW, IS NOT TOO EARLY!) and then get your conference registration to our office no later than
June 1st.
The Meeting Place - Cowboy Church: Most of
the meetings will be under the
"
Cowboy Canvas Cathedral."
Some activities will take place in the out-of-doors. These meetings have proven
to be a blessed time - a place and time, long to be remembered!
What others said about Cowboy
Family Bible Conference:
Ron and Nancy Clark wrote,
"Since this was our first Cowboy Family Camp experience, we weren't sure
what to expect. We can safely say that it has been an experience! A wonderful
one! We were glad to be invited and hope to attend again. Ronnie and I were
blessed by the knowledgeable men who led the Bible studies. It is always
beneficial to have the truth and the doctrines of the Grace Message reinforced
and to increase our knowledge and understanding of God's Word. The fellowship
was fantastic! There was a special spirit among the participants. The many new
people we met are not just acquaintances - they are brothers and sisters in
Christ - friends for life, and even longer! Once again, we were made to feel a
part of the family. We were fed physically and spiritually - which are both
needed and required to be met! This week has been one we'll always cherish."
Bob and Lynna, Schauers wrote,
"Bob and I are looking forward to
coming to Cowboy Family Camp again this summer. We will certainly bring Alex
with us if it is at all possible! It was a great experience for him and we
would love to bring him again this summer. I had many prayers when coming to
Cowboy Family Camp for my family and our time there. I knew it would be a
blessing for me, but I also wanted it to be a blessing for my husband and
grandson. All my prayers were answered and more. It was a wonderful experience
for all three of us. The teaching, fellowship, riding, and swimming were great
and we had a wonderful time. Alex really loved the opportunity to play
the guitar with you and "Red" in all the musical performances. It was a
stretching experience for him. Please know that Cowboy Camp was a blessing to
all three of us!"

I have never used any of these RV Parks or Motels so I cannot
tell you what to expect; except that those in Hermann are very nice, but
expensive. I have reserved a motel for Les Feldick and Eddie Piper at
"America's Best Inn" (573) 835-2900 in New Florence, Missouri. I have talked several times with
the owner/manager and he tells me he has 35 rooms and that he will treat us
right.
Please ask for the
owner and tell him you are going to be at the "Cowboy
Family Conference." I think your best choices will be one of the motels
on I-70 (* Marked in Red type) and are close to State Route 19, wihich means
that Little Bear Creek Ranch is about 10-15 miles South.
SO, HOW DO WE GET TO THE
CONFERENCE FROM HERE?
From Saint Louis, Missouri
Take I-70 West to the New Florence /
Hermann Exit # 175
Go Left (South) on MO-19 South 9.3 Miles to
County
Road 306 / Little Bear Creek Road
Turn East (Left) on CR 306 / Little Bear
Creek Road
Road is gravel and crosses the creek several times
